In Indonesia drug trafficking is a serious crime, if convicted you get the death penalty.
Possession is also a crime.
Yusuf Kalla, the Vice President of Indonesia says, however that marijuana used in cooking is legal. It has been used by Indonesian chefs for a long time as a traditional way to season curries. They use small amounts of crushed marijuana leaves or the seeds to spice certain dishes.
