Mercedes Velarde’s husband, Edmundo, is dead, he’s been dead for over a year now. This small fact hasn’t stopped Mercedes from keeping his rotting corpse next to their bed. Appearantly the whole family is wacky and has obvious psychological problems, one of the son’s even helped pick worms off the rotting corpse.
It is illegal in Mexico to hide the deceased, even it they are part of your family. What amazes me is, it only took the neighbors a year to call the cops, and only because the smell got so bad that it was warranted. I would hope that if my neighbors didn’t see me for a few months, they would wonder what happened to me! But then again we are talking about Mexico.
I’d prefer if my family had me stuffed by a taxidermist, then they could take me out on holidays and dust me off! Maybe get me a new suit each year! Ha!
